December 2004

WGS ANNUAL CHRISTMAS PARTY

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas
At the Discovery Center and all around.
Most of our ponds have been put to bed,
While the fish are hibernating with no need to be fed.

2004 was a very good year for the WGS
With the Public Tour leading the pack.
Volunteers came from north, south, east and west,
Offering various talents and many a strong back.

You helped build displays and then tear them down.
You assisted members on their monthly tours, too.
You welcomed strangers from out of town
And let’s not forget the works of amazing the Zoo Crew!

The Christmas wreaths were made with pride.
The annual picnic was quite an event!
Yes, 2004 was a mighty fine ride
And Ted kept selling ads everywhere he went!

Now the time has come for you to just relax
And enjoy our special Christmas affair.
There will be food and drinks and gifts galore
And we really hope that you’ll plan to be there.

It’s at the Discovery Center on Tuesday night
That’s December 21st from six to nine.
No meetings, no speakers, no work in sight!
Just a night to enjoy and have a good time.

So mark your calendar today and don’t forget.
Plan to come meet other members and friends.
It’s the Water Garden Society‘s best social yet,
But come January we start volunteering again!
